Nightwater Lighthouse and Secret Endings Guide

Island milestones and era transitions connect minigame rewards to the central Lighthouse, where four narrative endings unlock.

Early Scavenging in The Woods

Survival starts on a floating island bounded by liquid void, where you gather sticks and stones by hand. The Woods is the earliest accessible zone. Gathering local supplies allows you to build starter crafting setups and begin early progression. You can also access the Dark Thicket minigame here, which introduces separate items and progression tracks. Milestone goals require collecting specific quotas of resources to trigger new unlocks. The demo takes roughly 1 hour to reach the end. During this period, the game tracks resource milestones to unlock buildings and crafts.

Manifesting the Mountains Biome

Advancing through primitive milestones manifests new biomes across the starlight sea. Unlocking the Mountains opens mineral deposits such as coal and tin to mark entry into the Bronze Age. In the pre-release demo build, mining tin or coal does not advance milestone items because milestone progression for the Mountains was disabled until the full launch. In the complete game, harvesting these resources feeds into automated production. Impassable mountains circle the island, which floats in a sea of liquid void and starlight.

Constructing the Industrial Automation Chain

The Industrial Era shifts resource management from manual gathering to mechanical routing across 60+ buildings. Automating logistics provides continuous production without relying on manual labor.

  1. Construct automated farmers to gather raw materials continuously.
  2. Route materials through connecting pipes into assemblers to automate production chains.
  3. Direct output into dedicated storage units. Machines can be repositioned or deconstructed freely, as deconstruction returns all items without penalty.

Automated lines handle production without manual oversight, which leaves time to play minigames instead of gathering resources by hand.

Clearing the Five Minigame Hubs

Progression offers five minigames distributed across the world, starting with Dark Thicket in the woods and continuing into a minigame in the Mountains. Each minigame features its own gameplay loop, items, upgrades, and progression. Progressing in these challenges unlocks new buildings, crafts, and buffs that boost efficiency and help grow your factory. Across all biomes, the game features 100+ buildings, crafts, and buffs to discover. Studio Ashty noted that permanent upgrades will be made cheaper with improved pacing to reduce grinding in the full release.

Reaching the Central Lighthouse

Advancing into the future era involves discovering 20+ resources across multiple biomes. Late-game structures provide the infrastructure needed to push toward the mysterious Lighthouse.

  1. Gather resources and hit milestone goals across manifested biomes to unlock advanced crafts and buildings.
  2. Construct late-game buildings to make factories faster, larger, and more efficient.
  3. Progress toward the Lighthouse to uncover its secrets and escape this reality.

Reaching the Lighthouse serves as the central objective of the island while uncovering its underlying mysteries.

Uncovering Four Narrative Endings

Studio Ashty designed the story to remain completely optional, allowing players to reach the end without engaging with the narrative. To uncover all four endings and secret areas, search for the truth by piecing together clues and finding hidden secrets. The store page and developer logs do not list the exact activation requirements for each specific ending branch prior to the September 18, 2026 release date. Demo save files cannot transfer into version 1.0 because early progression segments were replaced. All four narrative routes must be uncovered on a fresh save.
